Travis Grimler/Echo Journal Sign of the season After the area received holiday snow, Pine River Public Works Director Mike Hansen clears the city ice rink Tuesday, Jan. 3. The snow that falls, drifts or is shoveled into the corners by rink users can only be cleared by shovel, while the rest of the rink can be cleared by machinery. Hansen and public works employee LeRoy Hulke spent the morning of Jan. 3 clearing snow from the municipal airport, the city streets and the ice rink.
