Breezy Point Mayor Tom Lillehei said there are around 1,200 tax-forfeited lots in Crow Wing County, and Breezy Point has 462 of those. In comparison with area communities, Ideal Township and Nisswa each has two tax-forfeited properties, Pelican Township has three, Pequot Lakes has one, and Crosslake does not have any. The 2017 Polar Bear Plunge took place Saturday, March 4, at Breezy Point Resort, and saw 275 plungers jump into the water and raise $75,000 for Special Olympics Minnesota.

Jessica Anthony submitted this photograph of her mother, Rachel Anthony, who disappeared the night of Feb. 27, 2001, at the end of her shift at Ultimate Liquors. Her body was found six weeks later. The case remains open and to date there has been no closure for the family.
