The abundance of holiday cheer is making it hard to stick to a diet around here.
At the Pine River Journal we have a supply of cookies and various candy goodies spread out on our break room table.
Mary brought in some cherry-filled Hershey Kisses. Apparently they are a seasonal item, and a big hit with the staff here.
Our (now favorite) co-worker Nancy baked cookies for us. Delicious! They will be gone in no time, without a doubt.
The boss, Pete, brought bags full of assorted candies for every employee. (He's our favorite, too.)
By now we've had our routine "Bring Food and Eat All Day" potluck event.
Basically we come up with reasons - legitimate or not - to celebrate with food.
My culinary skills are limited and the last two BFAEADs (how's that for an acronym?) I've brought veggie trays.
This time I've decided to make a veggie pizza appetizer. Basically you roll out a crescent roll base, bake, and once cool, smear with dill dip and chopped veggies.
It's delicious and easy to make.
My husband wrongly assumes that he'll get some! He's convinced that there will be leftovers. Ha! If there's one thing Journal employees are serious about, it's eating.
We're all clean-plate award winners here.
