An unoccupied cabin at Grand View Lodge in Nisswa sustained fire and smoke damage in a fire Friday morning, Nov. 28.

No one was injured. The fire was reported about 7:50 a.m. by workers from Nor-Son Inc., who were working nearby.

The cabin, with about five rooms, had heavy fire damage to the living room. Nisswa Fire Chief Richard Geike said the fire appears to have started in the living room near a little fridge and heater area.

Geike said the fire was isolated to the cabin and other structures were not threatened.

The cabin is along the resort's main entrance across from the Gull Lake Center project, where Nor-Son is building a conference center at the resort.

The Pequot Lakes and Brainerd fire departments, Nisswa police and North Ambulance also responded.
