Political Notebook: Bemidji attorney may challenge Sen. Ruud

A Bemidji attorney is exploring a run for the DFL endorsement to challenge state Sen. Carrie Ruud (R-Breezy Point) for her seat next year, the Brainerd Dispatch reported last week.

Mary Olson, who specializes in employment, discrimination and human rights law, practiced law in the U.S. Air Force and later in private practice in the Brainerd area.

Olson registered a campaign committee with the state Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board last week.
