The recent shooting at Fort Hood makes it tempting to think that people from diverse backgrounds can't get along.
I invite anyone interested in peace to come and listen to Sami Rasouli speak at the Brainerd Public Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. Some of you may have attended his presentations at Central Lakes College. Sami will speak about the situation on the ground in Iraq today.
Sami Rasouli is an Iraqi-American with dual citizenship who has been traveling back to Iraq since his retirement from the restaurant business in the Twin Cities.
He helped to set up the Muslim Peacemaker Teams in Iraq.
Some of their projects are Letters for Peace, Iraqi Art for Peace, and Water for Peace.
He recently brought a delegation of 13 Iraqis from the city of Najaf to the city of Minneapolis as a part of the Sister City Project.
Yours in peace,
Patricia Scott,
Brainerd
