She was born June 11, 1929 to Walter and Blanche Scott of Tracy, Minn. She graduated from Pine River High School in 1946, then went on to Normal Teachers training and taught at the Whitefish Country School east of Pine River.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Orville A. King in 1948 in Pine River. She worked in the Pine River Public and Kitchigami Regional library systems for 27 years.

She is survived by her husband, Orville King of Pine River; three sons: Kenny King of Pine River, Dennie King (Mona) of Walker, Ricky W. King (Colleen) of Pine River; five grandchildren: Kristin Hauser (Rick) of Edina, Karla Jo Cunningham (Chris) of Backus, Kraig King (Traci) of Pine River, Kendra Aleckson (Desi) of Pine River, Eric King of Pine River; six great-grandchildren: Avery, Jordan, Amelia, Kalli, Meredith and Konnor; two brothers: Wayne Scott (Barb) of Hutchinson, Darrell Scott (Ann) of Sauk Rapids.

Services were Friday, Nov. 2, at First Lutheran Church, Pine River. Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
