Hugo man killed in Crosslake car accident



A 29-year-old Hugo man died early Sunday, Sept. 27, after the car he was a passenger in went off Crow Wing County Road 103 in Crosslake and crashed into woods, the Crosslake Police Depart-ment reported.

Eric Yanka was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened about 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

Two other men, Eric Rivard, 30, Burnsville, who was driving, and Daniel Gonzalez, 32, Somerset, Wis., a passenger, were transported by ambulance to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd with non life-threatening injuries, police said.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department, the Breezy Point and Pequot Lakes police departments, Crosslake Fire Department and North Ambulance assisted.

The State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
