Offer of $100 off cemetery lot extended

The Lake Shore City Council on Monday extended the offer of $100 off a lot at the city's cemetery, Lake Shore Memorial Garden, for another six months.
The city sold approximately 20 lots with the same offer so far. The cemetery just opened this year.
In other action, the council:
Approved the Lake Margaret TMDL work plan for Phase III for $44,600 to be funded by the MPCA.
Lake Margaret is on the state's list of impaired waters for excess nutrients, and work is being done to determine the cause and alleviate the problem.
Agreed to buy signs marking locations for the Fritz Loven Park Trail not to exceed $200.
Authorized Heartland Animal Rescue Team to sell pull tabs at Bar Harbor Supper Club.
Renewed membership with the Cass County Economic Development Corp. for $1,000 for 2008.
Awarded a wastewater improvements bid to Pratt's Affordable Excavating of Merrifield for $77,818.
Public safety
Police reported 114 incidents from Aug. 27 to Sept. 23, including 62 traffic-related incidents and 52 miscellaneous incidents.
Traffic related incidents included 24 speed warnings, 11 traffic warnings, 11 speeding citations and two DWI arrests.
Miscellaneous incidents included 10 residential alarms and seven disturbance/disorderly conduct calls. Lake Shore police assisted Nisswa police six times, Cass County Sheriff's Department four times and Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department two times.
Permits
The city issued five permits in August for a valuation of $121,500, compared to seven permits issued in August 2006 for a valuation of $854,100.
August permits included four for accessory structures and one for grading.
To date this year, the city has issued 60 permits for a valuation of $7,007,918. At this time in 2006, the city had issued 29 permits for a total valuation of $5,092,275.
