Pequot Lakes middle and high school students returned to class Tuesday, while elementary students start the new school year today, Thursday.
Superintendent Rick Linnell said he'd heard concerns about having conferences Tuesday and Wednesday for Eagle View Elementary School students.
However, he said it provided an opportunity for parents, staff and students to discuss expectations for students, without using educational time.
As far as enrollment numbers, Linnell said the district is where it thought it would be. Administration is hoping for no decline in enrollment.
Currently, enrollment is open in all grades except kindergarten. Linnell said the school board likely will revisit its policy on open enrollment, and possibly open kindergarten.
"It's off to a good start," Linnell said of the school year.
