TDS Telecommunications upgrades connection speeds

TDS Telecommunica-tions Corp. will begin automatically converting many customers from 10 Megabytes per second to speeds up to 15 Mbps for free.

"TDS is working hard to provide our customers with the best Internet experience," said Matt Apps, consumer internet product manager for TDS. "Automatically upgrading many of them to faster speeds should enhance their online experience without impacting their wallets since prices remain the same."

According to TDS, its systems are automatically increasing customers' Internet speeds. Simultaneously, they are also working to ensure the service is more stable, with fewer interruptions. For some customers, it may mean speeds below 15 Mbps, but still faster than their previous connections, in order to ensure the quality and reliability of the service.

TDS is leveraging advancements in technology to use existing copper lines to increase the speeds up to 15Mbps and monitor the quality at the same time.

Consumers unsure about whether their account was upgraded or interested in finding find out if they're eligible for an automatic, free upgrade, can call TDS at 1-888-CALL-TDS.
