St. Joseph's Foundation recently announced a special enhancement to its Peace Garden on North Fifth Street in Brainerd, near the main entrance of the hospital.
Community members are now able to order engraved bricks to be placed within the path of the garden to honor or memorialize loved ones.
The Peace Garden is designed as a place of solace and healing and contains a metal sculpture that honors the 100 years that Benedictine Sisters have served at St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Sister Mary Charles McGough of the Benedictine Sister of St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth, designed the monument, and Jeff Kreitz, metal sculptor from Crosslake, executed this work in three metals: stainless steel, brass and copper.
The commemorative bricks will be permanently displayed in the garden and can be purchased to recognize the birth of a child, the passing of a family member, to honor a soldier or for any occasion. The money raised through this program will help St. Joseph's Foundation fulfill its mission of supporting St. Joseph's Medical Center and Clinics by raising and granting funds to support program and equipment purchases that promote health in our community.
