Region Five receives $15,000 grant
The Initiative Foundation awarded 17 community grants totaling more than $94,950 to support local projects.
The Region Five Development Commission, Staples, received a $15,000 Micropolitan Planning Project grant to help communities in the Gull Lake Watershed protect natural resources by coordinating planning and zoning across city/township boundaries and identifying opportunities to share costs and reduce bureaucracy.
This grant is made possible by support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Rural Development.
