Missing man's body found near Gull River
Cass County sheriff's deputies on Saturday, Aug. 28, found the body of a 55-year-old Albertville man who was reported missing from the Army Corps of Engineers campground on Gull Lake in East Gull Lake.
Sheriff's Chief Deputy Tom Burch said the man, Rick Eugene Welliver, was last seen by his wife at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in the campground, where the two had been camping.
Welliver's wife reported him missing at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday and responding deputies found him deceased in a marshy area near the Gull River in about 3 feet of water.
Burch said foul play isn't suspected and an autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office.
