MIMIS in Crosby becomes accredited for bariatric surgery
Cuyuna Regional Medical Center's Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIMIS) received accreditation to become the second level 1a bariatric surgery center in Minnesota.
Mayo Clinic in Rochester holds the other accreditation.
MIMIS recently received accreditation in the American College of Surgeons Level 1a Bariatric Surgery Network - the highest accreditation level offered.
MIMIS was recognized for its bariatric (weight loss) surgery program, surgical standards and continuous quality improvement.
Accredited bariatric surgery centers provide optimal care of morbidly obese patients. They support and provide the resources necessary to address the entire spectrum of care and needs of bariatric patients.
The Minnesota Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery is a service of Cuyuna Regional Medical Center on the Medical Campus in Crosby.
