Irish musical family to headline CLC Foundation fundraiser



The Hunt Family, an award-winning troupe of Irish step dancers, fiddlers and singers, will perform Friday, Sept. 10, and Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Gull Lake Center, Grand View Lodge, Nisswa.


The Hunt Family will perform Sept. 10 and 11 at Grand View Lodge as part of the Central Lakes College Foundation fundraising event.

The event, which starts at 5:30 p.m. both days with a silent auction/social hour, is a fundraiser for the Central Lakes College Foundation, a non-profit scholarship agency for student scholarships.

The Hunt Family performs original, Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational and popular tunes. The Hunts have produced and recorded five albums. Their latest CD, "Hearts Held High," features eight new original compositions.

The ensemble, which has performed four U.S. tours, made its national television debut on "The Tony Danza Show." They have appeared several times at the World Championships for Irish Dance in Ireland, Scotland and Philadelphia.

The social/silent auction will be followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the concert at 7:30 p.m.
