The Central Lakes College Cultural Arts Series will feature artists with national and international reputations.
Theatre Director Patrick Spradlin has assembled for his fifth season a line-up of performers that will offer something for just about anyone interested in the performing arts.
"The Chalberg renovation is under way," Spradlin said of the project to upgrade the 38-year-old facility.
Kicking off the season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, will be internationally renowned Winston, who performed for a full house last October at CLC.
Winston's album, "Gulf Coast Blues and Impressions - A Hurricane Relief Benefit," was motivated by his desire to help the Gulf Coast after hurricane devastation. He will also play songs from another popular album, "Montana - a Love Story" as well as from his seasonally themed albums and his other recordings.
Winston's work can be sampled at www.georgewinston.com.
"Triple Espresso," another repeat in the Cultural Arts Series, will be staged Saturday, Oct. 30, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 31, at 2 p.m., in the renovated Chalberg Theatre.
A third annual presentation of "The Rock and Roll Xmas Extravaganza" is set for Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m., on the Chalberg Theatre stage.
A more traditional Christmas show will conclude the fall season on Friday, Dec. 17, when The Steele Family Christmas returns to CLC for a second straight year to perform at 7:30 p.m. in Chalberg Theatre.
The 2011 spring slate includes "The Comedy of Errors" by the Acting Company and the Guthrie Theater on Tuesday, Feb. 1, and "An Enemy of the People" by the Commonweal Theatre Company of Lanesboro on Tuesday, April 5, both at 7:30 p.m.
