Home, sweet home!
The time is almost upon us. Carpentry work is nearly completed, volunteer painters have been busy and our new building will be soon be ready for The Big Move, which will begin Monday, Sept. 7, and continue all that week.
We will be closed that entire week and will reopen in our new facility on Monday, Sept. 14. Remember to stock up on reading materials before that time.
Anyone who wishes to help may call the library at 568-6181 to get a time scheduled in.
James Harrison to speak at the library Monday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m.
James Harrison, author of "Lost in the Woods - The Legacy of CCC Camp Pelican," will be the fifth presenter in this year's "A Conversation With..." program.
He will be the first of our presenters to speak in our new library facility, so there will be plenty of room for everyone. This would be a good chance to see what all the excitement of our new library is about. Mark the date and come in to hear this interesting speaker.
Harrison, a retired veterinarian and bio-medical researcher and a summer resident on Pelican Lake, has thoroughly researched the state forest service CCC camps and has written a book re-creating what life was like for members of Company 4751 at Camp Pelican. He will have books available to purchase, or you may check out the book from the library.
There is no charge to attend and it is open to all.
