Crosslake


Clyde Ernest Eckholm, age 76 of Crosslake, died July 30, 2009 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd after a long battle with cancer. Clyde was born on Dec. 9, 1932 in Foley, Minn. to Ernest Earl Eckholm and Anna Mathilda (Lundsten) Eckholm. Clyde served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He married Marlene Niles on May 15, 1959.

He loved woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He worked for 32 years for Northern States Power. He retired in 1992 and moved from Champlin to Crosslake. Clyde was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Church and Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion Post #500. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Marlene; sons, Ryan (Mary) and Richard (Gayleen); grandchildren, Matt, Rachel, Sarah, Krista, Jaimi (Brock) and Ryan; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma (Ed) Kramar.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harry and Byron.

Memorial Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Crosslake-Fifty Lakes American Legion Post #500 Color Guard. Visitation will begin the hour before services at the church.

Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
