The game July 22 at The Pines Marsh Course and The Garden Courses was side step scramble, which means if the team uses your drive you may not hit the next shot, and if the team uses your second shot you may not hit the next shot. Hence, the side step. Once on the green, all may putt. Eveyone's drive had to be used at least once.

Play of the day July 23 for the men's league at Howard's Barn was low individual net based on your age group. Three age groups were formed with 29 members golfing.
First place senior group: Paul Schulz with a net of 28.
First place in the middle group: tie, Woody Woodwick and Ray Elie with a net of 28.
First place in the junior group: John Driscoll with a net of 28.
Chip-ins were made by Romie Pumper on hole 4, Tom Yurek on holes 4 and 9, Lyle Monson on hole 6 and Jim Rauenhorst on hole 7.

The Fairways Women's League met Tuesday morning, July 22, for league play with 19 golfers participating. The play of the day was pink ball.
Winners of the play of the day were: Bev Skog, Helen Silva, Ann Schrupp and Nancy Giovannetti. Jane Fish had a chip-in; Silva two chip-ins; and Giovannetti had a birdie on hole 6.

The Crosswoods ladies' golf league's play of the day Wednesday, July 23, was longest putt on hole 15, with 30 golfers participating.
Winners were Gloria Dalbec, RoseAnn Stans, Ellyn Tracy, Nancy Stevens, Sharren Nuffer, Lila Kersey, Betty Lidholm and Marianne Enfield.
Betty Hyde had a birdie on hole 17.
Whitefish women's
9-hole golf
The women of Whitefish 9-hole ladies' league had two plays of the day because of a rainout the previous week at Whitefish Golf Club.
Winners of the first game, high hole out, were Delores Rubald, first; Sharon Jacobson, second; and Monica Fetter and Mary Erickson tied for third.
The second game was best ball team event. First place winners were tied with team 5, consisting of Kathy Brodin, Deloras Rubald and Liz Barker, and team 6, consisting of Sue VanRyan, Monica Fetter, Sheila Speedling and Audrey Anderson.
Second-place winner was team 4, consisting of Jane Kleinsasser, Phyllis Evans and Jo Tollefson.

Whitefish women's 18-hole golf
The Whitefish women's 18-hole league resumed play July 23 after being rained out July 16. The game was reverse cha cha cha.
Each team recorded 3 best net balls on the first hole, two best net balls on second hole, and one best net ball on third hole, and repeated that sequence throughout the course.
There was a tie for first place with a score of 124 - teams of Janet Duitsman, Joi Brandt and Joan Kantos; Lois Haglund, Marlys Guse and Anne Gazda.
Third place team with a score of 126 was Darlene Bonnema, Linda Randall and Mary Kay Kendall.
Fourth place team was Sally Helmer, Mary Lou Claypatch, Susan Walstrom and Nancy Schmidt with a score of 129.
Marguerite Baker had chip-ins on holes 5 and 11, a birdie on hole 14 and low net for the day of 60.
Anita Stensby had a birdie and a chip-in on hole 2, and Nancy Schmidt had a chip-in on hole 10.
The women's 18-hole league will host the championship on Aug. 5-6, and the WOW (Women of Whitefish) Event on Aug.12. The WOW Event is a 9-hole event, that includes both the 9- and 18-hole women's leagues.
