Construction workers from DRSE Concrete in Rice, Minn., secure stacked concrete blocks with rebar and poured concrete on July 23. The new building should be completed by Nov. 15.
ALC Building
The new Alternative Learning Center (ALC) building is being erected east of the current district office. The total cost for construction, including furnishings, will be approximately $375,000. To cover the cost the district will utilize approximately $150,000 out of the ALC reserve funds and a $225,000 10-year loan. ALC operating funds will cover the principal and interest payment on the 10-year loan.
The ALC program will move to the new building and the New Beginnings Program will remain at its current location. The district office will use the former ALC space for much needed district storage, adult education and potentially a district conference room.
