FORKHORN I DEER HUNTING CAMP
August 2-7
Sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, this camp is designed for students ages 12-16 and provides participants with the basic knowledge necessary to becoming an ethical, responsible, and successful deer hunter.Ê Campers learn: white-tailed deer biology, habits and habitat needs, hunting techniques, marksmanship skills, and field to feast game care and preparation.Ê Students who do not yet have their MN DNR firearms safety certificate (required in MN to hunt) will be trained by DNR Firearms Safety instructors and given the opportunity to receive their certification as part of the camp experience.Ê
FORKHORN III DEER HUNTING CAMP
Session 1 July 26-31 Session 2 August 2-7
Sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, this camp is a sampler covering several hunting and outdoor disciplines.Ê It includes topics such as: ÊMinnesota's wildlife heritage, small game, big game, waterfowl, planning the hunt, and shotgun wing shooting technique.Ê Other topics will include advanced first aid, wilderness survival, advanced game tracking, wild edibles, fair chase philosophy and more.Ê
YOUNG WOMEN IN SCIENCE CAMP
July 26-31
This camp is designed to provide young women ages 12-16 with an action-packed week of Field Science.Ê Campers will visit scientists in the workplace, create meaningful projects, and spend lots of time in the field learning about the environment.Ê Along the way, they discover the rich heritage of women scientists.Ê It is a great way to jump into science and meet new friends.
