Hole in one
Curt Koivisto, Babbitt, aced the 147-yard and fifth hole at Whitefish Golf Course in Breezy Point July 14 using a 5-iron.
Whitefish women's 9-hole golf
The Whitefish women's nine-hole golf league had a "Wine and Nine" event starting at 4 p.m. July 15. The women played the front nine. The game of the week was "razzle dazzle."
First-place winner was Carol Lovro. Second-place winners were Mary Erickson and Harriet Smith. Third place winners were Stephanie Haider and Cheryl Stansfield.
Sharon Barness, Monica Fetter and Susan Newsome had chip-ins. Barsness had a birdie.
After golf the women enjoyed wine and appetizers. The hostesses for the golf event were Janice Hupperts and Maryann Valley. Clarice Skalman and Kathy Helling were in charge of the wine and appetizers.

Whitefish women's 18-hole golf
Whitefish Women's 18 Hole League play of the day on Wednesday, July 15 was "2 person net ball."
In Flight A, Barb Hanson and Susan Finley won with 60, followed by a tie for second place by team Enga Wodziak, Mary Kay Kendall and team Susan Walstrom and Anita Stensby, each with a 67.
In Flight B, Cheryl Bontrager took first with a 62, and Marlys Guse took second with a 63. Each had a blind draw.
In Flight C, the winners were Darlene Bonnema and Mary Ann Erickson with a 66. Second place went to Judy Eastwood and Sharon Keister with a 67.
Individual low net was recorded by Finley with 65.Birdies were scored by Wodziak and Judy Johnson, with chip-ins recorded by Linda Randall and Marlene Anderson.
The member/guest event will be July 29.
Breezy Point ladies' golf
The event of the day on July 16 was "Dice Game" at the Traditional course. There was a three-way tie for first place with a score of 33 by the following teams: Doris Moede, Bugs Schmidt, Bonnie Person and Martha Polsfuss; Ellen Koshenina, Sue Marsolais, Karen Johnson and Dee Wicks; Sandy O'Day, Bunny Oseland, Barb Owens and Jill Roeder.
Second place with a score of 34 was the team of Eileen Henderson, Kathy Zender, Ardelle Cook and Sue Carroll.
This week's event will be the Invitational Tournament, Golfing with the Stars, to be played at Whitebirch with check in at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Crosswoods ladies' golf league
The Crosswoods Ladies Golf League had 27 players Wednesday July 15. The play of the day was "4 clubs - gross score."
The winners were Charlotte Gibbons, Sharren Nuffer, Gloria Dalbec, Betty Lidholm, Sharon Seeker, Georgi Ashlin and Sue Farrell.

Fairways at Howard's Barn men's golf league results from July 15.
First - Bing Brodzinski, Jim Rauenhorst, Jerry Silbaugh and Neil Harveiux. Second - Charlie Peterson, Lyle Monson, Dale Tracy and Sig Anderson. Third - Ken Lieske, Don Miller, Steve Tufte and Jerry Kolpek.
Longest putt on hole 9, Harry Head; closest to the pin on hole 7, Lyle Monson; chip-ins, Ollie Courts on hole 4, John Driscoll on hole 7 and Lyle Monson on hole 9.

Fairways at Howard's Barn women's league
The Fairways at Howard's Barn Women's League met Tuesday morning, July 14, for league play with 15 golfers participating. The play of the day was "Handicap."
Winners were Joyce Alexander, Marlene Miller, Marlene Walters and Helen Blatz.
Pat Nentl reported a chip-in.
Many of the Fairways League golfers will be participating in the Triangle Tournament hosted this season by Emily.
Pine River ladies' golf
Pine River ladies' golf league played Thursday, July 9, and winner of low gross play was Eileen Springer. Sally Plowman had low putts.
Thursday, July 16, winners of best poker hand were: first, Dorla Lind and second, Carol Lovro.Ê Springer had low putts.
Hole in one
Steve Davis, Princeton, aced the 164-yard 13th hole at Golden Eagle Golf Club in Fifty Lakes, July 13 using a 6-iron.
Grand View Lodge golf results
No GVL Outing golf results this week for July 14. It was rained out for us at Deacon's Lodge.
