The council voted unanimously to create a police bank account for the Chicamaw Beach Funds. The Pine River Police Department provides police service to Chickamaw Beach in exchange for a monthly fee.
The council voted unanimously to extend the City's Administrative fine timeline. Fine recipients will have 10 days to pay a fine rather than seven days.
The council voted unanimously to pay for the Water Conservation Service to detect and fix a water leak in the city's water system. The cost was estimated between $800 and $1,000.
The council voted 3-0 (Frederickson abstained) to approve an increase in benefits for the Pine River Firefighters Relief Association. The benefits will increase from $1,350 to $1,400 per year of active service. The move will not cost the city extra money.
The council voted unanimously to pay the final pay voucher of $15,140 to Randy Kramer Excavating for work at the Pine River Industrial Park, contingent on the proper signatures being received. Overall, the project came in under bid.
The council gave approval for an airport lease agreement with Mark Smith, contingent on the city's building inspector's approval. Smith wants to construct a 60-by-60 foot hanger this year, and another of comparable size in two years. Gary Gardiner of the Pine River Regional Airport Commission reported that there will be adequate setbacks and the buildings will not encroach on the taxiway.
The council voted unanimously to accept a bid of $67,998 from Independent Petroleum to install fueling tanks at the airport.
The council voted unanimously to transfer half of Airport Lot 6 and all of Lots 7 and 8 from Dan Miller to Eric Ask.
The council voted unanimously to purchase some tax forfeited land on the corner of Evelyne Avenue and Pine Street North. The city will purchase the land from Cass County, contingent on the county waiting until after Jan. 1 to receive the funds so the city can budget for the expense.
The council voted unanimously to pass a resolution entering into an agreement with the state to provide public transportation service in the city of Pine River. The city agrees to pay 15 percent of the total operating cost and 20 percent of the total capital costs.
The council voted unanimously to renew liability insurance with an increase in city clerk's bond from $50,000 to $100,000 and add employee dishonesty coverage. They also voted to waive the statutory tort limit to receive additional coverage.
The council voted unanimously to approve Riverview Church's request to block off the street between Second and Third Street for a block party on Aug. 2 starting at 2 p.m.
