On Thursday, July 10, Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a reported burglary at the Sportsman's Store on County Road 3 south of Crosslake, and an attempted theft of gasoline and damage to property call on County Road 116 east of County Road 3.
Deputies connected the two crimes and identified possible suspects. Shortly thereafter, deputies located the two suspects, both boys age 17, and recovered items reported stolen in the Sportsman's Store burglary.
One boy from Crosby was taken into custody and placed at a juvenile detention facility. The second boy from Merrifield was released to a parent.
The case was sent to the Crow Wing County attorney's office for possible charges.
