Two Backus residents are being held in Crow Wing County Jail on burglary charges.
Stacy Lee Daily, 37, and Wendy Christine Lyons, 36, are being held on $30,000 and $20,000 bail, respectively, facing one count each of felony second-degree burglary, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years or $20,000 fine or both.
According to the complaint, a property owner arrived June 17 to find the two inside a vacant dwelling that sits on his property. The defendants were allegedly removing items from the building and stacking them outside, intending to load them onto the truck and trailer they were using.
Cass County Sheriff's deputies arrested Daily June 20. At that time, officers also recovered items that linked the defendants to other burglaries, including a John Deere tractor.
Both defendants are scheduled to appear in Cass County Court for omnibus hearings; Daily July 21 and Lyons Aug. 20.
