Golf Digest Magazine ranks Classic at Madden's
Golf Digest Magazine recently published a ranking of the "best 100 public golf courses in the nation." The Classic at Madden's gained the 40th spot.
Only one other Minnesota golf course was included in the top 50.
Subsequently, the list was adjusted to reflect value. When price was added to the criteria, The Classic at Madden's came in 24th.
Ranking is based on evaluations filed by a national panel of more than 900 male and female golfers who judge each course on several criteria for Golf Digest magazine. As new courses come on the scene and others are modified, the list reflects some changes each year.
Some notable courses that are not included in the top 50 include: Torrey Pines, LaJolla, Calif.; Pinehurst Club, Pinehurst, N.C.; Bay Hill Club, Orlando, Fla.; Grande Dunes, Myrtle Beach.
Madden's president, Brian Thuringer said, "We are pleased to see that our quality and value compare favorably with the best in the nation." The Classic at Madden's opened in 1997.
