Pequot Lakes girl released from hospital after car accident in Brainerd

An 11-year-old Pequot Lakes girl was released Monday from North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale after being injured in a two-vehicle collision Thursday, June 19, in Baxter.

Emily Tischma was airlifted from the scene by North AirCare to North Memorial after the accident at highways 371 and 210 that injured three others.

Treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd and released were Angie Johnson, 34, Pequot Lakes; Derrick Stevenson, 24, St. Paul; and Juli Sutton-Deem, 57, Brainerd.

Baxter police said the broadside collision happened after Johnson, driving a Ford station wagon, failed to stop at a red light while attempting to turn from Highway 210 onto Highway 371 and hit the vehicle driven by Sutton-Deem, who was on Highway 210.

Brainerd firefighters used a Jaws of Life, saws and pry bars to free the two passengers in Johnson's vehicle.
