Backus City Council recently awarded individual quotes for construction of their new city maintenance building. The total project was estimated to cost between $50,000-$60,000.
The maintenance building will be located on an empty lot on Front Street between the Backus Senior Center and the city's former maintenance garage.
The council earlier abandoned plans to locate it at the site of the Backus tennis courts.
The following quotes were awarded during the city council meeting:
HBR Construction, $7,500
Advantage Heating & Cooling, $7,165 (LP hanging furnace)
Burns Brothers, $5,800, concrete slab
Evergreen Electric, $5,400
R&C Plumbing, $2,490
