The Pine River-Backus varsity softball season ended in the playoffs when they lost to the Sebeka Trojans on Tuesday, May 20.
The Tigers came out in the first inning and scored two runs, but unfortunately those were the only runs the Tigers scored - while the Trojans scored three runs in the first, three in the second, and six in the fourth to beat the Tigers 12-2.
Erin Johnson took the loss for the Tigers as she struck out four batters, walked six, and gave up 12 hits including three triples and a double.
The Tigers had only five hits, of which only two went for extra bases.
Tahnee Hamilton hit two doubles, and also had the two RBIs for the Tigers and went 2-3.
Both teams had three errors. Coach Danny Johnson told his team, "We had a lot of fun this year, and we had a good season."
The final overall record for the Tigers is 11-8.
