The Cass County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary that occurred in East Gull Lake on Monday.
The occupant returned to the home and apparently interrupted a burglary, according to the sheriff's department.
The suspect located a handgun in the residence and fired one shot and then dropped the gun and fled the residence, the sheriff's department said.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late 20s wearing blue jeans and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
There were no injuries and the incident remains under investigation.
