Fifty Lakes boy injured after falling several stories



A 5-year-old Fifty Lakes boy was injured Thursday, May 21, when he fell several stories at his home, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff©ös Office.

Tristan Veit was airlifted by North Air Care to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale for medical care.

A construction project was under way on the Veit property off County Road 3, and Tristan was apparently leaning against a newly finished wall by the site, according to the sheriff's office. He was observed to have fallen through the wall and into what was described as a hole intended for a basement. An immediate call was made to 911 for assistance.

The accident was reported at 6:23 p.m. Crow Wing County deputies responded to the residence along with emergency response personnel from Crosslake, Breezy Point and Emily police departments.

North Ambulance, Fifty Lakes First Responders and the Fifty Lakes Fire Department were also on the scene providing emergency medical and recovery efforts.
