Pequot Lakes' junior Drake Beyer placed fourth out of 120 players at the Bemidji Town & Country Golf Course on Monday.
Beyer shot a 39 on the first nine and 37 on the final nine for a total score of 76 - three strokes behind medalist Aaron Wheeler of Moorhead. The Patriots finished ninth of 21 teams with a total score of 343. Moorhead won the meet with 310.
"Drake played extremely well against a lot of Class AA teams," Pequot Lakes coach Steve Stoxen said of Beyer, who made the all-tournament team.
"It's only our fourth meet of the season, so things are going pretty well," Stoxen said. "We want to keep improving since we're going to face some very good teams, like St. Cloud Cathedral, at our subsection meet (May 22 at Territory Golf Club in St. Cloud)."
Pequot Lakes was scheduled to play at The Preserve on Wednesday before traveling to Ruttger's on Bay Lake for a conference meet on Thursday.

Patriots 17th at The Pines
On April 30, the Patriots finished 17th at the Brainerd Invitational at Grand View Lodge's The Pines course.
Beyer's 83 and Dale's 89 paced Pequot Lakes. Tyler Monda of Brainerd was co-medalist with a 74. The Patriots' team score was 357 while Chaska won the tournament with a 311.

On May 1, the Patriots also finished 17th at The Preserve course. Pequot Lakes had a score of 357 while Forest Lake won with 312.
The Patriots were led by Charlie Hollinbeck with 84 and Beyer with 86. Bo Anderson of Park of Cottage Grove and Colton Boege of Rogers tied for medalist honors with 75.
