Last Wednesday in Pine River, Coach Al Amundson's Pequot Lakes Patriots JV softball team beat the PR-B Tigers 18-7 as Brittany Davis pitched a complete game, striking out four, and she cracked a home run to boot.
Her battery-mate, catcher Ali Scott, got three hits and Markie Abramo, Kim Narveson and Lauren Wheeler also had hits.
"Brittany pitched a nice game and we hit the ball better," said Amundson.
Things don't go well at Perham
on Saturday
At Perham on Saturday the Patriots lost both ends of a doubleheader by scores of 22-12 and 16-5.
In the first game Davis was the losing pitcher as she struck out four, but the Patriots made several errors to help the Yellowjackets out.
Scott, Megan Saap and Carmen Schnoor had the only hits for the Patriots.
In the second game, Brittany Wgeishofski was the pitcher with one strike out.
Catcher Kaiti Pahl had a single and a triple, Haley Monson had two singles, Wheeler a double and Ashley Zimmerman, Katie Olson and Cassie Kepner all had hits as well.
"We made a bunch of errors in the first game and didn't hit well," said Amundson, "while in the second game we hit pretty well, but a lot of walks hurt us."
