The Pine River-Backus track team competed at Park Rapids on April 22, and for the second meet in a row, Glen Abbott won the long jump to lead the Tiger boys team while Naomi Anderson and Molly Lundrigan led the girls.
PR-B finished with 16 points to finish ninth in the boys' team standings. Roseau ran away with the team title with 179. Pequot Lakes took second place with 70 points.
Abbott captured the long jump with a leap of 19' 8", finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5' 6" and was fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.99 seconds, accounting for all of the Tigers' team points.
PR-B tied for seventh in the girls' event with 42 points. Park Rapids won the team title with 110 points and Pequot Lakes was fourth with 62 points.
In the 100-meter dash, Lundrigan finished third with a time of 13.83 seconds. In the 400-meter Anderson took second with a time of 1:06.04 and Taylor Sheley was fifth with a time of 1:07.95.
The Tiger 4x200 relay team of Anderson, Lundrigan, Sheley and Becky Walker finished fifth with a time of 1:58.10.
Anderson took second in the long jump with a leap of 14' 2". Lundrigan captured second in the triple jump with a leap of 31' 7.75". Anderson also finished second in the shot put with a toss of 30' 4".
The Walker-Hackensack-Akeley meet scheduled for April 25 was postponed due to the weather. The Tigers are scheduled to compete at Pequot Lakes on April 29 and at Pillager on May 1.
