Area real estate agents, builders, contractors and others interested are invited to attend the workshop, "The Value of Healthy Lakes: What Realtors should know about lakeshore property," from 12:45 to 5 p.m. May 6 at the Walker Community Center, 105 Tower Avenue, Walker. The workshop is sponsored by the Leech Lake Area Watershed Foundation, University of Minnesota Extension Shoreland Education Program, and the Greater Lakes Association of Realtors.

This workshop is designed for real estate agents, contractors and builders so they may help current and prospective shoreland property owners protect their investment and the quality of the lake.
The workshop will focus on basic lake ecology, minimization of shoreland runoff, the economic advantages of lake stewardship, land and lake regulations that realtors need to know about, and the impacts of development in sensitive shoreland areas.
Agents can earn 3.75 education credits. Certificates are available for contractors, builders and others upon request.
There is no charge to attend for Greater Lakes Association of Realtors members who have purchased an education card. Otherwise registration is $4 per person. Preregistration is requested.
