Man dies in trench cave in
Marvin Borchert, 66, of Fairbault, died Wednesday morning, east of Backus, when a trench he was working in caved in trapping him beneath the earth.
The Cass County SheriffÕs Department reports emergency responders arrived at the scene, four miles east of Backus. People at the scene at the time of the cave in had freed Borchert and tried to resuscitate him. An autopsy is scheduled.
