The following spring cleanup opportunities are available Saturday, April 25.
Community cleanup
The Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club will sponsor the 10th annual Community Cleanup from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Pequot Lakes High School parking lot.
Items that will be taken include tires, mattresses, appliances, furniture, scrap metal, demolition debris, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, computers, electronics and paper for shredding.
The Salvation Army will be there to accept gently used clothing and household items.
Paper shredding will be available by Paper Storm for 20 cents a pound.
Hazardous waste will not be accepted.
Fees will be charged for items on a per item or load basis. Proceeds benefit the Pequot Lakes/Breezy Point Lions Club.
Road cleanup opportunities
The Pelican Lakes Conservation Club is looking for volunteers of all ages to help with road cleanup starting at 7:30 or 8 a.m. with doughnuts, coffee and pop at the Pelican Lakes Conservation Community Center.
Lunch will be provided for the volunteers at 12:30 p.m. after the cleanup.
The Crosslake-Ideal Lions Club is looking for volunteers to help with road cleanup to meet at 8:45 a.m. in the Reed's Market parking lot in Crosslake.
After the cleanup (which takes one to two hours), participants will meet at Zorbaz in Crosslake for a free pizza party and beverages for workers only.

The Army Corps of Engineers (COE) in Crosslake seeks volunteers of all ages to help with cleanup of the Recreation Area starting at 9 a.m. Jobs will include picking up trash, raking and blowing leaves and readying the park for the May 1 summer season opening.
The COE will provide weekend free camping along with available showers and lunch April 25. Volunteers are asked to bring rakes and leaf blowers.
