Sentencing slated May 30

Former Jenkins City Clerk Julie Ann Ohr, Pine River, pleaded guilty March 11 in Crow Wing County District Court to a felony theft count-diversion of corporate property, and a felony count of embezzling public funds.

Six felony counts of theft by check were dismissed, and sentencing was scheduled for May 30, according to the court administrator's office.

According to the complaint, Ohr, 40, issued checks to herself totaling more than $107,000 from Lakes Area Carpet and Wood in Pequot Lakes and more than $55,000 from the city of Jenkins.

The thefts occurred between Sept. 30, 2004, and April 2, 2007, while Ohr worked for the city of Jenkins and Lakes Area Carpet.
