Bomb technician, chef, cardiac sonographer, florist - all of these and more are careers that area students explored at Central Lakes College.
The fourth annual Career Exploration Day was held at CLC on Friday, March 11. Bridges Career Academies & Workplace Connection along with Central Lakes College and the Brainerd Lakes Chamber sponsored the event.
There were more than 150 different career exploration opportunities available for the approximately 2,400 students from 23 area schools that attended the event.
CLC scheduled the day off for its college students and was also able to highlight many of their academic programs. Some of the different academic programs included the theater department, which demonstrated how to use makeup for fake wounds.
Careers in many different areas were represented including health science technology, human services, business management, agriculture, natural resources, arts, communication, engineering, manufacturing and technology.
Students were able to participate in a videography skit that was set up like "Saturday Night Live." They were also able to get a massage from a massage therapist, see a food demonstration from a chef and participate in a taser demonstration.
