I just wanted to thank Breezy Point Ice Arena operators for a great job they did this season with hockey tournaments. As a parent of two hockey players and as the manager of AmericInn Lodge and Suites in Pequot Lakes, I think they deserve a thank you for bringing so many families to the area.
These families need lodging, food and also enjoy shopping in the area. They spend money in our community that we would otherwise not have since snowmobiling has not been too reliable.
Bob Spizzo of Breezy Point Resort runs a great organization and Joe Bergquist manages the hockey arena diligently. This is one of the few private hockey arenas in the state.
A lot of the coaching is on a volunteer basis and they deserve recognition, too. We receive many comments on how nice our arena is and how welcoming everyone is. That will keep them coming back, not only for hockey, but for summer fun. This will help keep our communities thriving.
