According to my latest newsletter from the Minnesota Family Council, our legislative majority (Democratic) will try again in the 2008 session to pass "comprehensive" sex education.
With the same liberal (SIECUS) guidelines, this initiative encourages students to develop their own sexual identity separate from their parents' influence. That's unacceptable!
In the last session, concerned parents jammed the phone lines convincing their legislators to reject the comprehensive sex education portion of the education bill. During 2008, I believe parents will again refuse to be intimidated and assert their rights as parents (MN Statute 120B.20) to review and challenge all teaching materials used in sex education classes, including any pro-homosexual indoctrination materials.
Several months ago a Minnesota judge ruled that, with regard to sex education, the school system has a "shared responsibility" with parents. Sometimes the Democratic legislative leadership forgets the "shared" part. Republicans don't.
