Learn about the Backus First Responders
Backus First Responders is a separate entity from the Backus Fire Department - although there are some firefighters on the First Responder team. Some are emergency medical technicians, some are First Responders and others are First Responder/Firefighters.
The team covers an extensive territory: Ponto, Powers, McKinley, Blind Lake, Deer Field, Bull Moose, Ansel, Bungo, Wabedo, Woodrow and Pine River townships - plus the city of Backus.
The Backus First Responders rely on donations from civic organizations, businesses and individuals to provide the service to the community.
