Koering appointed to be ranking member on capital investment committee

Minnesota House Republican Leader David Senjem appointed Sen. Paul Koering, R-Fort Ripley, to be the Senate GOP's lead member to the Senate Capital Investment Committee.

Party caucuses appoint members to update and advise their memberships on legislation being considered in committees. The 28-member Capital Investment (also known as Bonding) Committee has jurisdiction over all bills appropriating money for the acquisition and improvement of state-owned lands and buildings.

Koering serves as the ranking minority member on the Health, Housing and Family Security Committee. He also serves on the Agricultural and Veterans, Agricultural and Veterans Budget and Policy, Health and Human Services Budget Division, Higher Education, and Higher Education Budget and Policy Committees.

Koering replaces former Sen. Dick Day as the lead Republican on the Capital Investment Committee.
