People with skills in painting, carving, cooking, organizing, singing, playing an instrument, leading a craft session or other special talents are being sought for the upcoming class sessions.

Instructors for community education are hired as local experts based on their skills and a willingness to teach. Community education classes are offered to youth or adults.

Most classes are considered to be enrichment classes, something that will improve the learner's quality of life and increase their knowledge of a topic or their skill level.

Learners do not earn credit in most cases for the classes taken. Some class offerings may lead to a certificate of attendance or a certificate of completion for the course. The "credit" earned varies with the level of instruction, the background of the instructor and whether a certification process is required.

The Pequot Lakes Community Education program needs teachers in order to develop the spring and summer class schedule for April through August.

Spring and summer are good times to get outside and learn gardening, figure out how to make a kite, learn to crochet, find out how to make yeast breads, work on fly fishing lures, learn how to take great digital photos, practice speaking conversational Spanish, review and discuss a reading topic or hone card playing skills.
