Billy McLaughlin and Electric String Quartet will perform on the Staples Motley Area Arts Council's concert series at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Centennial Auditorium in Staples.
McLaughlin is recognized as an innovative performer and composer who uses acoustic guitar amplification, different techniques and altered tunings. Through a devastating medical disorder called focal dystonia, he has had to re-learn the guitar left-handed.
His story is the subject of an award-winning documentary film called "Changing Keys - Billy McLaughlin and the Mysteries of Dystonia."
For more information on his story and his music, check out his website at billymclaughlin.com.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students in advance, $15 and $7 at the door. Tickets will be available online at the arts council's website or from the Staples Motley Community Education Office at 218-894-2497.
Anyone purchasing six or more advance sale tickets to any event, or series of events, will receive the season price of $10 per ticket. Any student with proper ID can purchase a student rush ticket one hour before the show for $1.
