The Pequot Lakes High School speech team kicked off its season Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Grand Rapids Early Bird Invitational.
The team took home a number of awards, including:
Creative Expression: first, Marissa Miller; white ribbon, Katie Northenscold.
Duo: white ribbon, Joe Bocklund/Jayden Cardias.
Extemporaneous reading: first, Luke Fyle.
Prose: fourth, Angela Cole.
The team will travel to McGregor on Saturday, Jan. 28.
