Four area anglers will represent Pequot Lakes in the MN State Muskie Tournament on Friday, June 22, on Lake Vermilion. Each school can send two teams of two to the regional competition, which was held on Lake Alexander on Friday, June 8, with both of our teams advanced. On Thursday, June 7, Crosslake senior archer Emily Mitchell shot 267 and placed 12th in the 12th-grade girls division as an individual in the 2018 Centershot Ministries Worlds Bullseye Tournament held at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The following day she shot a season- and personal-best score of 275 and placed 5th as an individual archer in the 2018 Centershot Ministries Worlds 3D Tournament.

Phillip Ingvalson of Pequot Lakes has returned home from the World Jiujitsu IBJJF Championship in Long Beach, California, where he earned a bronze medal. Prior to this tournament, he earned two gold medals at the 2018 Atlanta Winter International IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Ingvalson trains under Alliance BJJ MN - Damian Hirtz and START BJJ St. Cloud - Brock Larson. Ingvalson is a sophomore at Minnesota Connections Academy. Submitted photo
