About 100 people turned out at a community open house Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Nisswa Community Center to learn about a 3.1-mile section of the Gull Lake Trail connecting the city of Lake Shore to the tunnel in downtown Nisswa.

Those who attended were able to see drawings and layouts, and ask questions and offer feedback about the proposed trail route. That route would take the trail from County State Aid Highway 77 north following Lower Roy Lake Road and connecting to Hazelwood Drive to the tunnel.

The next step is to compile feedback from the open house and present it to Nisswa city leadership and project engineers to help in the trail design.

The Gull Lake Trail will connect the communities of East Gull Lake, Fairview Township, Lake Shore and Nisswa.
