Garrett Westlund picked up a goal and an assist for the Northern Lakes Lightning Thursday, Dec. 21, as they fell 5-3 to the Park Rapids Panthers.

Also scoring for the Lightning in the Mid-State Conference game were Zech Trenkenschu and Dylan Mesenbrink.

Lightning Goalie Wyatt Fink recorded 26 saves.

Shane Donovan and Westlund scored early goals to give Northern Lakes a 2-0 first-period lead, but Little Falls scored six of the next seven for a 6-3 non-conference win Tuesday, Dec. 19.

Westlund recorded two goals for the Lightning, while Donovan and Drew Elfering each had an assist. Six different Flyers scored in the game.

Fink kicked away 15 shots for the Lightning.
